This is an authentic Moroccan cooking Tagine made for the souk in Tangier and bought by the local householders. The tagines are not perfect in their formation and have a rustic finish, as they are entirely hand-made in traditional potteries, where they are commonly stored on concrete floors. Small chips to the base and lid are usual and do not constitute faults. With a 21 cm diameter,this tagine should be able to feed 2 people. A healthy way of cooking that exotic Moroccan feast or alternatively a stew. Truly a great experience. Height: 15cm X 20cm Diameter: 21cm maximum. As each tagine is hand thrown, these measurements will vary and are for guidance only. We recommend that this tagine is used in the oven at a low temperature below 170 c (130 to 150 is ideal for slow cooking) for melt in the mouth meat. To use on a gas or electric stove (not suitable for a ceramic hob) you must use a heat diffuser/simmer ring. Not dishwasher safe.
